
The Civic Leadership Institute is guided by a Board of Directors composed of respected civic leaders, practitioners, and professionals with experience across media, governance, civil society, finance, and philanthropy.
The Board provides strategic oversight and stewardship for the mission and institutional development of the institute.
Dr. Golden Maunganidze
Chairperson
Dr. Golden Maunganidze is a distinguished media practitioner with a strong record of achievement across journalism, media development and marketing.
He is the founding Director of Great Zimbabwe University Campus Radio, Zimbabwe’s first university-run campus radio station.
He brings more than 15 years of experience in the media sector across Southern Africa, having served as a journalist, editor, lecturer, consultant, researcher, and publisher.
Dr. Maunganidze is the founding and current President of the Zimbabwe Journalism Educators Network (ZIJEN) and previously served as Board Chairperson for Zimbabwe and the Southern African region of the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA).
He is also the founding Director and Publisher of TellZim News, an independent community newspaper based in Masvingo.
Laura Miti
Vice Chairperson
Laura Miti is a seasoned African civic leader with more than four decades of experience in grassroots mobilisation and social accountability.
She serves as a Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission of Zambia, where she contributes to advancing justice for victims of human rights violations.
Laura is the founder and former Executive Director of the Alliance for Community Action (ACA), an organisation focused on strengthening public demand for accountability in the management of public resources.
Through her work, she has played a transformative role in advancing social accountability practice across Southern Africa.
Permanent Ngoma
Treasurer
Permanent Ngoma is the Executive Director of the Bulawayo Progressive Residents Association (BUPRA).
She is a seasoned strategist with expertise in social advocacy, project planning, and grant management, particularly in campaigns focused on access to clean water, service delivery, and housing rights.
Prior to joining BUPRA, she served as Regional Manager at the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) and previously worked with the Women’s Institute for Leadership Development (WILD).
Jade Takudzwa Tsokodayi
Board Member
Jade Takudzwa Tsokodayi is a Chartered Accountant and finance executive with extensive experience in financial leadership, audit, and advisory.
He currently serves as Chief Finance Officer of ZB Bank Limited, a subsidiary of ZB Financial Holdings Limited, listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.
He is also the Founder and Lead Consultant of Mwenemutapa Capital, providing financial advisory services and supporting civil society organisations in strengthening financial management systems.
Tarisai Treasure Jangara
Board Member
Tarisai Treasure Jangara serves as the Southern and Central Africa Regional Lead for Alliance Magazine, a global publication covering philanthropy and social investment.
She is a communications for development specialist with more than a decade of experience across philanthropy, civil society, and international development.
Her previous roles include work with the African Philanthropy Network, the Global Fund for Community Foundations, the Zambian Governance Foundation for Civil Society, and the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights).
Nyasha Mpani
Board Member
Nyasha Mpani serves as Project Leader for the Data for Governance Alliance at the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR).
He brings expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, data-driven advocacy, research, communications, and monitoring and evaluation.
His work includes supporting governance and democratic participation initiatives involving civil society organisations, communities, youth groups, and political actors.
