The Civic Leadership Institute was established to strengthen the institution of civic leadership across Africa.

Civic leaders play a critical role in sustaining democratic life, defending communities, and advancing social change. Yet many operate under conditions of shrinking civic space, institutional fragility, financial uncertainty, and leadership isolation.

The Civic Leadership Institute exists to accompany these leaders, strengthen the organisations they serve, and build a community of practice grounded in African lived experience.

Support for the institute enables the continued development of leadership programmes, research initiatives, and institutional innovations designed to strengthen civic leadership ecosystems across the continent.
